The recent rapid development of electronics has resulted in many new electrical appliance. Dry battery, as the power source of these advanced electrical appliances, has been developed a great many new types of batteries such as Silver Oxide Battery, Lithium Battery, Alkaline Battery, etc. On the other hand, the traditional Leclanche (Carbon Zinc) Battery, required for the expanding day by day, has also reached a higher level of quality in order to match the new functions of these new electrical goods.

One of the most important factors to assure higher quality of the Leclanche Battery is the excellent control of its raw materials.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

The carbon rod is one of the most important raw material in the manufacture of Leclanche dry batteries. It is used not only to collect and conduct the current to the positive terminal, but also sometimes to serve as vent for permitting gases, generally by chemical reaction, to escape from the dry battery. As to the structure of the carbon rod, it is extremely important that it resist electrolyte penetration, which can damage the positive terminal, shorten the life of the dry battery, or harm the electrical appliance itself.

In order to produce excellent carbon rods, we have conducted close quality control and strict inspection in the production process. First of all, we blend special controlled powder and binder, and extrude it into carbon rods. Secondly, we put the carbon rods into a tunnel kiln for baking at a stable temperature for a few days. After that, we process them in conformity with the user’s requested impregnation. Then, we grind carbon rods in order to obtain exact dimensions. Finally, the carbon rods are severely inspected concerning characteristics, and packed in standard export packages for shipping.
